I just had my lip busted the 2nd time in as many weeks from an errant doberman head. Note to self: do NOT place your head anywhere NEAR the top of a doberman head. That head might flip up in your face at any moment!!! do NOT do it!! I thought for sure my two front teeth had been busted out, that’s how hard I was hit. geez.
Don’t you love it when kids learn the meanings to new words or phrases? or at least pretend they know them?
This morning, while packing the kids’ backpacks, I mentioned how the teachers would be pleased that we had done all the homework for the week yesterday. Eric said, ‘yeah, that’s good, because now I’m retiring’. oh, ok. Retiring from what? Retiring from homework, math, reading, that kind of stuff. (He had just learned that our favorite pediatrician was retiring soon - he was worried that meant the Dr was actually going to die now, but we explained no, this meant he could do whatever he wanted from now on, other than work. Apparently, the idea of retiring is a GOOD thing.

Last night, while putting the kids to bed, I said, ‘ok - you guys need to calm down, get in bed, and go to sleep’. Eric asked me, ‘do you mean that literally?’. That took me aback for a second, and I said, ‘of course! And, I think you should just go jump off a bridge’. He said, ‘Really???’ I replied, ‘well, don’t take me literally….’. too funny.
