Arras bred to Cosmo

Sunday, January 25th, 2009

A really nice red bitch, so there ought to be a lot of brown pups since Arras carries the brown gene and Cosmo is brown….  Check out www.vonschlottke.com for more info!  It really is always funny when the owner comes in the door and Arras gets a sniff of them and then he knows why the guest is here!  Thank G that humans don’t have the sense of smell that dogs do!  geez!

Quinna did great at training yesterday — she’s starting to do a very impressive hold and bark.  We used the blind for the first time yesterday.  The helper was standing outside of the blind, and whas banging on the blind with the stick at which point I was to let her run in.  Well, you have to understand that Quinna is a ROCKET and she ran so fast that he wasn’t 100% in the blind and she tried to grab his arm from the back side of the blind — i.e., but jumping up in the air and going over the side of the blind if you can imagine that.  Some pics were taken - we’ll see if any of them show that.

I need to start looking into camps for the kids this summer.  We starting brainstorming some of the camps they could go to (if they existed).  I told them that there is a fort building camp, which seems like a potential hit.  They offered up ideas such as Wii camp (they did have some good ideas for this - like making life size Miis to match their Mii on the Wii), Home camp (they stay home all day and play Wii), Jungle camp, ‘Finding’ Camp (where they go down to the Eno river and try to Find creatures in the woods and river), Zoo camp, Aquarium camp (those do exist, but not close to us).. I suggested Church camp (no!!!!!!!!), Reading camp (no no no!!!!), Math camp (oooooooooohhhhhh), Chore camp, cleaning camp, poop picker upper camp,  etc etc.  My ideas were not well received.  :-)

Happy New Year!

Arras has sired another litter - 5 pups this time (4 girls, 1 boy).. check out www.masaydobermans.com .  I think he’s got another girlfriend coming in the next month or so… I have gone to Statesville a couple more times to train with Richard Shook.. Quinna’s training is coming along very nicely.  In tracking, I’ve started doing Such-plotz with her to get her articles down.  We’ll go back to regular tracking after that is pretty consistant and she realizes that is her JOB to indicate the article correctly.  Debbie Zappia is coming to do a seminar at our club April 4/5, and I am very excited about the opportunity to learn from her.
