Arras bred to Cinders

Friday, October 31st, 2008

Arras was bred to Swift Run’s Vulcan Masaya (Cinders), CD, SchH I, this past week.  Contact Brandi Williams at masayadobermans@yahoo.com or cSwift Run Y litter - 2 weeks oldheck out her website at www.masayadobermans.com.  Cinders is an Agir daughter.  Agir and Arras were competing about the same time, so it’s sort of cool to end up having a litter with both Agir and Arras in the pedigree.  Brandi is new to the game of SchH, and it says a LOT that Cinders just turned 2 in July, and has acheived a SchH I twice already (with a newbie handler) — once at the DPCA nationals a few weeks ago, where she turned in a 96 in tracking, and was one of maybe only 2 dogs who NAILED the courage test.  Hopefully, in 30 days, we’ll have news about a confirmed pregnancy!

Meanwhile, here’s a pic of Arras’ 2 week old litter with Danni.

Arras has now sired 20 pups/Schutzhund Barbie

Monday, October 20th, 2008

With the 3 new arrivals at the von Schlottke kennel and the 6 at the Swift Run Dobermans kennel, there are now 20 Arras pups tearing up the country :-) .    The von Schlottke pups and the Swift Run pups are all spoken for, but Arras is being bred to an Agir daughter within the next 10 days or so… (check www.masayadobermans.com)  He also has another planned breeding in January, but that hasn’t exactly been announced yet, so I’m waiting to tell that one..

Our UDC member club is hosting a trial this weekend - all breed, but we will have at least a FEW dobermans there, thank goodness!  We are raffling off a ’schutzhund barbie - doberman edition’ for the club.   This Working Doberman of the Carolinas 2008 schutzhund barbie will come with her trusty doberman, tennis balls, ball on a rope, tracking line and flags,  and some great pics on the back of the box showing accessories that will knock your socks off!  If you’d like to purchase some raffle tickets, paypal $5 per ticket (or $25 for 6 tickets) to crasmussen@nc.rr.com by Friday!  This will be the best gift to give yourself or your favorite schH doberman girl!

The kids were good at sunday school — what happened?

Monday, October 6th, 2008

My kids go to Catholic sunday school (called Catechism) every sunday it is in session.  They are in the same class, unlike in school, where they are ON PURPOSE split into two different classes.  This year, the catechism department tried to put them in separate catechism classes due to their behaivor last year.  One thing led to another, and they’re back in the same class, but I am supposed to go in about 20 mins before it’s over to help ‘monitor’ (i.e. babysit!) in case the catechists run into problems during group prayer.  This week, when I walked in, one of the teachers said, ‘They were so good!  Are they on medication?’   I got quite a good laugh over that — (no, no medication!).  Other kids are just good, my kids must be on medication or something to be good!

FTTKS: washing machine

Monday, October 6th, 2008

(funny things the kids say)

Cole read me a story the other day about a washing machine that was a bit of an over-achiever; cleaning cats, dogs, flowers, etc.  However, everytime he got to the ‘washing machine’ word, he substituted his word for washing machine: washingMcCleaner.    Do we live in a McDonalds world or what?
